Our Own Quilts

The quilts pictured below were made for our own use or as gifts for family members.

Of course, family quilts get everyone involved: even the webmaster gets his fingers pried off the keyboard from time to time and put to work hand-stitching binding.

This small wall hanging is the south porch display for September. It is based on a small picture panel.

This is the end result of the blended nine-patch variation I made for my sister: the quilt on the bed with pillow shams and matching quilted headboard, which is a slipcover for the wooden headboard.

My sister picked out a quilt pattern she liked because of the shading. The pattern was for a small wall hanging, and her quilt was to be for a king-sized bed. I reworked the blended nine-patch technique to blend light to dark from top to bottom instead of from the center out, and used a solid border.
