Our Own Quilts

The quilts pictured below were made for our own use or as gifts for family members.

Of course, family quilts get everyone involved: even the webmaster gets his fingers pried off the keyboard from time to time and put to work hand-stitching binding.

This king-sized quilt, a wedding present for one of our daughters, is an adaptation of the Spiral Lone Star wall hanging below. We added the compass point corners from the orginal square pattern to all eight faces of the spiral, then added borders and three-quarter circles to expand the design from the original 48-inch central star to a 120-inch king size. The colors match her bedroom decor.

Three-panel composite photo, some parallax issues toward the bottom, but shows the overall design with borders.

The center of the red Spiral Lone Star above. The two black borders make the transition from octagonal star to square, and the three-quarter circles anchor the corners.
