Our Own Quilts

The quilts pictured below were made for our own use or as gifts for family members.

Of course, family quilts get everyone involved: even the webmaster gets his fingers pried off the keyboard from time to time and put to work hand-stitching binding.

Stack 'n Whack queen size quilt. Quilted with quarter-inch technique in the black border and stars. A diagonal grid was used around the outside of stars that have concentric center circles.

Detail of the Stack 'n Whack. I've quilted lots of these for others, but this is the first one I've made. An oriental theme fabric was used to make the kaleidoscope pattern.

I made this quilt for my sister about eight years ago for her guest room, and tied it. This year, I took it apart and quilted it on the long-arm machine. The dahlia pattern is from The Quick and Easy Giant Dahlia Quilt on the Sewing Machine, by Susan Alysworth Murwin and Suzzy Chalfant Payne. I added the log cabin borders.
