Our Own Quilts

The quilts pictured below were made for our own use or as gifts for family members.

Of course, family quilts get everyone involved: even the webmaster gets his fingers pried off the keyboard from time to time and put to work hand-stitching binding.

A small wall hanging, dyed by pounding flowers from my garden onto prepared fabric and embellished with beads and quilting.

This quilt won 2nd prize in wall-hanging category at the 2006 Ravalli County Fair

A front view of a vest I made for my brother-in-law's 80th birthday. He's a member of the Elks and wanted an Elk vest, so I made one that didn't use the copyrighted Elks emblem. The buttons are elk teeth and the feather meander quilting is intended to make the fabric look like tooled leather.

The back of Ben's vest, showing the elk applique and commercially embroidered "Montana." The elk design was used by permission from Pat Hastings' Lewis and Clark series of quilt patterns.
