Bead Embellishments
In addition to traditional quilts, quilting services, and hand-woven
pieces,we also embellish our original works with beads, wire, felt, and
non-woven fibers; on dolls, bags, and quilts. As with many of our products,
we do not stock an inventory: most works are one-of-a-kind
creations. Commissions are most welcome. For a consultation and
quote, contact
us.
Title piece: "Brigid," a 9.5-inch (24cm) bead sculpture on a fabric
armature, which won first place in the 2005 challenge show sponsored by The
Beaded Pony of Stevensville, Montana, and a Reserve Grand Champion
award in the 2006 Ravalli County Fair. Original design by Judy.

| Missoula quilters check out the
trunk show display before the meeting. Some of the pieces,
"Synergy," "Brigid," and "Garden Thyme" have been shown before,
but most of the pieces were new, shown below in the following eight photos. |

This painted panel was found at a
thrift shop and was probably a pillow top from the 1980s. It gets
new life as a quilted and beaded wall hanging. |

A selection of beaded beads
and and example of Brazilian embroidery, forms of embellishment that
can be used on any fabric object. |

This original design is a
quilted and beaded needle case, a book with leaves of wool felt for
transporting and storing threaded needles for beading and
embroidery. On the right is a work-in-progress, a traditional Native
American-style beaded leather medicine bag, started in a workshop at
West Fork Mountain Crafts. |
